Pen Types at Harding Pens These are the main types of pens that I make. Some new types are on the way soon. See also the Hardware Plating page for information on platted finish options.

The simplest and most affordable type of pen at Harding Pens is the
classic Slimline. Also known as the slim twist pen, this pen is the thinnest
and can come with a flat band or beaded centre-band. This pen uses a
Cross or compatible ball point refill available in blue or black ink. The refills
are easy to find at any good business supply store. I sell ink refills for $1
each.
The slimline is also available in a mechanical pencil version too.
Slim pens and pencils are available in a 24 karat gold platted hardware
finish. Some more durable plating options are just becoming available.

Another cost effective design is the European Style twist
pen, it has a look based upon classic designer pens
coming out of luxury European pen manufacturers. This
pen has a thicker grip area then the slimline and usually
has a size step at the centre-band. This pen allows the
pen to retract with the same twist action as the slim pen.
This pen uses a cross ball point refill available in blue or
black ink.
The European Pen is available in 24K gold, upgrade gold,
Chrome, Satin Nickel and Satin Gold hardware finishes.
The Desk pen is a simple pen who's writing tip does not retract. It usually is placed in a
desk top stand where it sits ready for a quick note or signature.
This pen uses a cross ball point refill available in blue or black ink. The standard Cross
refill cap is removed and discarded when replacing the ink cartridge.
The nib of this pen is finished in 24 k Gold Plating.
The El Grande pen is a very elegant writing instrument. The El Grande is available in a
rollerball or fountain pen style ink. These inks can dry out, so they have a cap to keep
the ink fresh when the pen is not in use. The fountain pen uses a waterman
compatible, water based ink, disposable cartridge, available at any good business
supply store. The roller ball pens use a standard replaceable cartridge too. The El
Grande is available in 24k upgrade gold; Satin-gold; Chrome; and Satin-Nickel plated
finishes.
The Regency pen is a premium writing instrument. The Regency has five separate
wood turnings and is unequalled in its show of wood.. The Regency is available in
a rollerball or fountain pen style ink. The fountain pen style uses a waterman
compatible, water based ink, disposable cartridge, available at any good business
supply store. The roller ball pens use a standard replaceable cartridge too.
The hardware parts for the Regency Pen are from a supplier in the UK and are not
very commonly seen in North America. The hardware for the Regency is only
available in 24k gold plated.
The Cigar Pen is a thick double twist pen that uses a standard Parker type ink refill. The
black rings on the pen are painted metal. The rest of the hardware is available in
platings of upgraded 24k gold, satin gold, chrome, or satin nickel. A premium plating
option is now available: Titanium gold. This is not real gold, but looks like it. It also
wears much better than any type of real gold plating. This plating is much more
expensive and there is an up-charge for Titanium Gold plating.
The double twist mechanism means the tip extends with a twist motion in either
direction.
Rollerball and Fountain Pens The pens below come in Rollerball or Fountain and most can be converted from one to the other. All the Rollerball pens come with a Hauser Brand rollerball ink cartridge. The Fountain Pens come with a disposable ink cartridge and a converter pump for using bottled ink. More ink refill info here: Refill ink information.

There is a mechanical pencil version of the slimline pen. This can be done as part of a pen and pencil set or on its own. The pencil has a push button top to advance the lead.
